Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy to sit out the 2019 season

The Jets hired Adam Gase as head coach Wednesday and it turns out Joseph could end up there as a defensive coordinator despite the Bengals bringing him to town for an interview as head coach last week. He won 125 regular-season games, 10 playoff games and a Super Bowl between 2006 and 2018.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken, former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, and Baylor head coach Matt Rhule are believed to have been the other finalists for the job.

Broncos Tab Bears' Vic Fangio As New Head Coach
The Broncos fired former coach Vance Joseph on December 31 after he posted 5-11 and 6-10 records in his two seasons at the helm. Denver completed its interview with Fangio on Monday, a day after the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs.

McCarthy coached in Green Bay for 12 seasons and finished with a record of 135-85-2.

During his three years with Gase, Manning threw 131 touchdown passes. The two also worked together with the Chicago Bears under John Fox. "Gase is going to be the head coach - he has been offered the job, he has accepted the job".

These assurances are set to be delivered to lawmakers before they vote, although not before they start their debate on Wednesday. Lawmakers are also taking legislative action to try to prevent "no deal".

McCarthy was sacked by the Packers on December 1. He was hired by the Dolphins as their head coach the following season. However, they do have rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who showed flashes of his promise to become the team's potential franchise quarterback in his first season. He is set to become the first Jets head coach with previous National Football League head-coaching experience since Bill Parcells was hired by the franchise in 1997.

Gase, who has been known as a quarterback whisperer of sorts, is a polarizing candidate.
