Kevin Hart may host the Oscars 2019 after all

"I think Ellen DeGeneres wants to see Kevin Hart host the Oscars". Hart had stepped down from the job days after officially being named as the next host late previous year, as a large number of old, homophobic tweets from his account began recirculating online. He later apologized to the LGBTQ community and voluntarily stepped down as host.

An appreciative Hart said he would reconsider his decision to step down as host of the Academy Awards.

Ellen DeGeneres made headlines after she offered a full-throated defense of comedian Kevin Hart on her show Thursday. "You've already expressed that it's not being educated on the subject, not realizing how unsafe those words are, not realizing how many kids are killed for being gay or beaten up every day", said DeGeneres.

Last month, we've reported that Kevin Hart opted to step down as host for the 2019 Oscars following social media backlash due to decade-old controversial tweets. A source tells EW that ABC and the Academy were already exploring a host-less option before DeGeneres chose to get involved, and surely there's someone on the network's payroll who could handle monologue/funny-opening-montage-packed-with-celebrity-cameos duty.

Saoirse Ronan to present at Golden Globes
In the Trump era in particular, award show hosts have had to toe the line in deciding whether to delve into politics. Oldman won the Golden Globe previous year for best performance by an actor in a motion picture for "Darkest Hour".

DeGeneres said: "I know you are not that guy because I know you".

DeGeneres revealed that she contacted the Academy to talk with them about the situation.

"My understanding is that he has apologized, he has evolved in his position and I do wonder when is a person allowed to evolve, when is a person allowed to become an ally?" she then asked. "No, it's done. It's done", Hart said.

"We are a huge group of people who love you and want to see you host the Oscars". (Hint: He's on at 11:35 p.m.) After that, there are literally hundreds of stars scheduled to be in attendance who could handle whatever interstitial presenting needs to happen between the first award and the end of the broadcast. "This was by far the most raw/honest & authentic interview that I have ever done". But you can't grow as a person without mistakes.

Barcelona confirm interest in Rabiot
They face stiff competition, however, as just yesterday Barcelona confirmed they were keen on signing the midfielder. One place Rabiot won't be heading, however, is North London.

"I can think of at least 50 openly gay up and coming comedians who deserve your awesome platform more than d--e canoe Kevin [Hart] and his blatant push for the Oscars gig", Cook tweeted. The Oscars is no longer about Kevin Hart stepping on that stage and taking an intense night where people are so uptight and making it loose and fun. "Either my apology is accepted, or it isn't", Hart said. I've yet to go back to that version of the immature version of the comedian that once was. According to DeGeneres, the Academy is interested, telling her, "Whatever we can do, we would be thrilled". "Either I can move forward, or I can't".

With no host set for the February date, hopefully the Academy will find a different way to proceed. You have grown, you have apologized, you are apologized again right now. "But I don't believe in going backwards".

During the interview, however, Hart seemed to warm up a little to the idea of returning. Once again, I'm sorry if these words hurt.
