Microsoft Emergency Patch Internet Explorer Zero-Day Exploit

Microsoft Emergency Patch Internet Explorer Zero-Day Exploit

The vulnerability affects certain versions of Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Microsoft has not made public much detail about the flaw behind this vulnerability, beyond the vague clarification it is caused by the way the Internet Explorer jscript scripting engine handled objects in memory. Google tipped off its fellow tech titan that the browser's vulnerability would allow an attacker to engineer arbitrary code in the context of the current user.

The company has issued a fix for the flaw now, outside of its typical Patch Tuesday security cycle, signifying it is a significant threat and should be patched immediately.

The app will be available to all Windows 10 users soon.

Afghan Officials Downplay Reported US Troop Drawdown Plans
The official said planning is underway, and it could take months to withdraw the almost 7,000 troops. They attack security forces and government officials on a daily basis, stated reports.

Both the Department of Homeland Security, Microsoft, and security researchers at Google have said that criminals are now exploiting a newly found flaw in several popular versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser.

The company rushed to issue a patch because, apparently, the vulnerability is being exploited.

Data security personnel struggle with the sheer number of patches that are issued by manufacturers, and users are inpatient in allowing the security personnel to disrupt access and user experience in order to patch the vulnerabilities.

The firm said Windows users should install the latest update even if they don't use Internet Explorer regularly. Those running insider Build can download it right now from the Microsoft store and those on the public version of Windows 10 need to wait until Microsoft pushes an update to the Office suite. But malicious hackers also build executable files and shroud their true intent to see if they can hack your computer and run amok on your machine.

A second summit, however, is reportedly still in the works between President Trump and Kim Jong Un despite heightened tensions. From the announcement, as reported by Associated Press .

After the April update was delayed and the October update got pulled, then restarted a month later, after users reported files being deleted from devices on which it was installed, Microsoft has no room for error in 2019.

'An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the current user, ' Microsoft added.

The biggest risk comes if you're logged into Windows as a user with administrative rights at the time of the exploit.
