'Severe' air quality in Delhi-NCR

Delhi, so far, this season has seen only two "severe" days with the AQI crossing 400 on Monday and previously on October 30. The air quality index returned to "very poor" from Monday's "severe" category as the wind speed picked up.

Meanwhile, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) informed the bench that it had created social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook where citizens could lodge complaints about pollution in Delhi-NCR.

The pollutants carried by mid-level winds gradually subside and mixes with the local pollution of Delhi-NCR.

At the conclusion of the First WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health this week in Geneva, Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said "Our dream is a world free of air pollution".

The removals took place in late September and early October. "We have 100 Senators, 49 Democrats and I never see him", Trump said. Trump received the type of jobs report that any president would envy heading into the final days before the midterm elections.

Another official said if the air quality continues to remain in the "severe" category for 48 hours, they would consider implementing more regulations. Beside banning construction in Delhi-NCR zone and shutting down industries that run on coal and biomass, EPCA has urged Delhiites to use public transport until November 10.

"Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal questioned the absence of his Punjab and Haryana counterparts at the high-profile deliberations".

However, Vardhan said the issue of air pollution "should not be politicised" and everyone should cooperate fully to protect the environment, while stressing the need for an "aggressive" plan to combat air pollution in Delhi.

The top court had described as "very critical" the prevailing situation of pollution in Delhi-NCR, directing that a list of 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles be published on the web site of CPCB and transport department.

The two-ton pickup slammed into the Scouts, visiting tragedy on the town of 14,000 before speeding off. Police said 21-year-old Colten Treu was driving a pick-up truck that left the road and hit the troop.

The Delhi government launched an aggressive 10-day "Clean Air Campaign" from November 1 to monitor and report polluting activities and ordered halting of construction activities and regulating vehicular traffic.

The first-ever worldwide air pollution conference organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) brought together government officials and health experts from more than 100 countries to place the issue on the global agenda.

"The government has had limited success in persuading farmers to stop burning the post-harvest stubble in their fields - a major source of the smog sweeping Delhi", she said. She added that now the ventilation index, which depends on wind speed and mixing height, is higher due to which air quality has improved.

He noted that Kampala and the entire country, is still relying more on qualitative than quantitative indicators to monitor and asses the ambient quality of air.

The coalition halted a previous attempt to take the city in June, to allow space for UN-led peace consultations in Geneva. A pro-government medical source said that mortar shells landed on residential areas and caused casualties among citizens.
