Indian Astronaut May Pay A Short Visit to International Space Station

Rogozin, who heads the Russian space agency Roskosmos, said in an interview on state-run television that an expert commission had wrapped up its initial findings.

If the mission proves successful, India will join an elite group of only three countries - Russia, US and China - which have the capability to launch a manned mission to outer space.

An air leak occurred due to a small hole in the spacecraft at the International Space Station at the end of August.

Feustel has called the suggestion that the crew was somehow involved "embarrassing" and NASA on Wednesday expressed doubts over the theory that the hole was the result of sabotage.

Scientists Find What Could Be A History-Making Moon
Still, further observations by Hubble are needed to fully confirm the existence of Kepler-1625b-i. The potential moon would be considerably larger than Earth - about the size of Neptune or Uranus.

Initially, the hole was thought to have been caused by a micrometeorite or a manufacturing defect. NASA and its Russian counterparts are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the cause.

Drew Feustel needs to return to Earth this week after his stay on the global space station, but he did it as a parting gift.

"This conclusion does not necessarily mean the hole was created intentionally or with mal-intent", NASA said.

Rogozin said a leading theory continues to be that someone in the station or at a space facility on Earth drilled the hole on goal.

"We are grateful to American colleagues for years-long productive cooperation, crowned with the creation of the International Space Station (ISS) that this year turns 20".

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine plans to meet Rogozin - their first in-person encounter - when he attends the launch.

Ever wonder what astronauts on the International Space Station do in between space walks and exploring the solar system? NASA says it hopes to sort the problem out then.
