Another Trump loyalist granted immunity as prosecutors close in on Trump business

According to the Wall Street Journal, Pecker, who like Cohen was close with Trump, provided information on Cohen and the president in the criminal probe.

The Cohen investigation was referred to federal prosecutors in NY by US special counsel Robert Mueller, who is looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible co-ordination between Trump's Republican campaign and Russian officials. Mr. Weisselberg has worked for the Trump family for more than four decades, including as treasurer for the Donald J. Trump Foundation. Legal experts told The Times that NY prosecutors could now question Mr Weisselberg about any topic and he would be required to answer under the immunity deal or risk perjury charges. This means Weisselberg is the accountant who filed Trump's tax returns.

Weisselberg forwarded Cohen's invoice to another unidentified Trump Organization executive, "and it was approved, " prosecutors wrote.

Michael Cohen admitted in court Tuesday that President Trump directed him to illegally pay out money to two women to keep them from speaking during the 2016 campaign about their alleged affairs with Donald Trump.

Samsung announces Galaxy J2 Core, its first Android Go handset
Samsung enters the lucrative holiday shopping season with two new gadgets on deck, the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy Watch . Will Android Go smartphones be reliable enough to convince consumers to buy one? What do you make of the Galaxy J2 Core?

Weisselberg was given immunity months ago, one of the people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Cohen was prosecuted by the U.S. attorney's office for the southern district of NY, acting on a referral by special counsel Robert Mueller. Another person with knowledge of Trump's thinking said the president continues to direct much of his ire at Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who infuriated him by recusing himself from the Russian Federation probe.

Both women claimed affairs with Mr Trump, which he has denied, and were paid for their silence.

A former National Enquirer bureau chief says that there is a trove of stories about President Donald Trump in a safe - and he revealed what kind of stories are being locked away from the public.

Last March, in response to a letter from a group of House Democrats about the Daniels and McDougal payments, American Media general counsel Cameron Stracher declined to provide any documents, writing that the company was "exempt" from United States campaign finance laws because it is a news publisher and it was "confident" it had complied with all tax laws.

While Pecker is cooperating with federal prosecutors now, American Media previously declined to participate in congressional inquiries. He also said he was only aware of the payments "later on".

Trump regularly refers to Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt", however a number of subpoenas and convictions have already come about as a result of Mueller's probe. It followed days of intense domestic pressure and negative headlines. The White House said it's up to Trump's outside lawyers to deal with much of the news.

Some also questioned just how Trump would react if the bad news continued to roll in.

Turnbull's parting salvo at the Dutton and Abbott 'determined insurgency'
Morrison defeated Dutton 45 votes to 40. "There was a determined insurgency from a number of people, " Mr Turnbull said. He returned to Australia to work... "We have lost the prime minister, there is a Government to save", he said.

On the recording, Cohen can be heard saying, "I've spoken to Allen Weisselberg about how to set the whole thing up..."
