Idris Elba responds to James Bond casting rumors with cryptic tweets

Idris Elba has posted a cryptic tweet suggesting he could be the next James Bond.

On Sunday morning (August 12), the actor took to Twitter to post a heavily-filtered selfie along with the caption: "my name's Elba, Idris Elba", which mirrors 007's famous catchphrase: "The name's Bond..."

Elba's fans were delighted at the news, although the star has yet to respond to any of the many replies to his tweet asking him to confirm that he is indeed lined up to play Bond.

Maurizio Sarri hints at early Chelsea struggle
The Blues' new star in the midfield is Jorginho, who came over to Chelsea with Sarri from Napoli . We all know Thibault's quality, but Thibault's not a Chelsea player anymore.

The latest slew of Elba-Bond rumors comes after a report in the United Kingdom tabloid The Daily Star, which quoted director Antoine Fuqua as saying that Elba was, yet again, in the running for the role.

Reaching very, very far for a connection, one fan commented: "I see two clocks in the picture". Two round clocks can be called double 0.

After all, it seems age is very much just a number when it comes to Bond.

Last season's Championship title winners are ready to trigger the 22-year-old's release clause to push the deal over the line. It is a team with a big history and when people tell me I had the possibility of coming here I thought it was great.

Idris Elba appears to have caught wind of the latest round of rumors that he might one day play James Bond, and he's having some fun with the buzz on social media.

"When Sean Connery stepped into the scene he was a rough old dude".

Elba, 45, is best known for his work on the television dramas Luther and The Wire, as well as in the films Molly's Game, The Jungle Book, Thor, Pacific Rim, Zootopia and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
