Samsung Galaxy Note 9 - South African pricing and release date

The company said the Galaxy Note 9 was aimed at a new generation of users and creators.

The focus on gamer-friendly features appears to be a shift away from Samsung's previous positioning of the Note as a productivity-boosting device, and is an attempt to lure younger customers as the company's smartphone sales falter.

As far as battery life is concerned Samsung promises the Note 9 will last "all day" thanks to a 4,000mAh battery. In turn, it makes the Note 9 slightly more appealing. In the USA and many European countries, Samsung will sell the Galaxy Note 9 that will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Samsung's made just the right changes to the Note 9's retail box and honestly, these aren't even necessary. You also still get to choose from the aforementioned bonus perks when preordering. The highest configuration variant has 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. But wait, there is more. However, other rumors have pointed to an alternative SKU with 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Support for a microSD card is offered, and users will be able to add extra 512GB through it. The AI software detects blurred images, bad lighting and stains on the lens. It has an aperture of F2.4. So what are these features? Luckily, Samsung has built supercapacitors into the new Note which charges up the Pen to 100% in just 40 seconds for an endurance of upto 30minutes. The S pen is more powerful this time. It also comes with a more advanced S Pen that can be used as a remote (which, if you buy the blue version of the Galaxy Note 9, comes in bright yellow). Samsung Galaxy Watch comes in two display sizes of 442mm and 46mm. Few handsets will come with an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor with Mali G72MP18 GPU.

Storm-hit PGA resumes with Tiger chasing leader Woodland
Woods has made 15 of them this week, one for every major championship he hopes to have late on Sunday at Bellerive. Tiger Woods had completed seven holes in three under par, with playing partner Rory McIlroy carding seven pars.

Both models feature IP68 water and dust resistance.

- The Galaxy Note 9 uses LTE CAT18, which can theoretically support 1gbps network speed.

Auto Scene Optimization is also in hand, and this works on the same principle as scene recognition modes on other smartphones and cameras, first identifying subjects before deciding on a category and adjusting parameters such as contrast, brightness and saturation to suit. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, heart rate sensor, proximity sensor, RGB light sensor, Iris sensor, and a pressure sensor. There are two variants of the Note 9: a 128GB model, and a 512GB version - which is already huge by any smartphone standards.

Google Pixel 3 XL leaks out in early unboxing photos
The leaked images also reveal that the Pixel 3 XL will have an iPhone X-like notch, and it's much bigger than you might expect. In additional photos, we can see that Google will apparently be changing the color of the power button this time around.

The 128GB model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be available in South Africa from 24 August 2018 for R18,999.

We can expect Amazon and Flipkart to offer the device for pre-order as well. Samsung's €1,029 price for its lower-tier Note 9 signifies that premium devices look set to cost around €1,000 from now on. This is essentially $1000.

The Galaxy Watch will hit stores in the U.S. and various other markets on August 24.
