Mourinho 'angry and frustrated' after Man Utd centre-half signing flop

Manchester United should have been looking for a new striker not a centre-half, says Paul Ince, with Jose Mourinho now facing further frustration on transfer deadline day.

"We changed Daley Blind [returned to Ajax] for a 19-year-old kid [Dalot] that we believe has the potential to play right-back or left-back".

United start their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford against Leicester at 8pm this evening.

On Thursday, Mourinho seemed to dismiss the chance of United signing anyone in the last knockings and yet reports emerged of enquiries for Jerome Boateng and Diego Godin, amid similar interest in Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld.

Steve Bruce tells Tottenham to find more if they want Jack Grealish
However, Villa have since been rescured by the investment from business investors Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens. Aston Villa have told Tottenham Hotspur to "double" their offer for midfield star Jack Grealish .

He will ask his players to "help" against Claude Puel's side while accepting many of his key players may be undercooked for a game that he feels has come too soon after a World Cup summer.

"They returned on Monday, they trained Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and today so you can imagine that they are not really fit and ready but we have needs", he added.

Another player who has come through an uncertain summer with United is Anthony Martial, who was left out of his France's World Cup squad, prompting comments from his agent that he wished to leave Old Trafford to safeguard his global future. It's Anthony Martial's turn to be publically criticised as he chose to spend time with his family after the birth of his child rather than return to America.

"He didn't have a pre-season, three days of pre-season", Mourinho said.

The program will see the government-set minimum price of beer drop from $1.25 to $1.00 before tax and deposit. While that sounds insanely cheap, note that for the last 10 years, the minimum price for beer was only $1.25.

"In pre-season it looked like I was saying something absolutely out of order, it looked like I was saying something insane", he added.

Across town from Old Trafford, Manchester City have signed Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City, with the Australian youngster expected to go out on loan.

Ed Woodward has also been thrust into the limelight with Mourinho moaning at the lack of signings this transfer window.

"You [the media] repeat 1,000 times my relations with my players is not good", Mourinho stated.
