Urban Meyer Placed On Paid Administrative Leave

Urban Meyer Placed On Paid Administrative Leave

How is it possible Meyer continued to hold up a man repeatedly accused of domestic violence - a man who scared his wife - as an example for his team?

Journalist Brett McMurphy shared in a Facebook post on August 1 that he had obtained text messages shared between Courtney Smith and Shelley Meyer, Urban's wife.

"He [deFries] said, 'If you don't drop the charges, Zach will never coach again, '" Courtney Smith told McMurphy, the former ESPN reporter.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was placed on paid administrative leave, the school announced Wednesday night. "I do believe he knew, and instead he chose to help the abuser and enable the abuser and believe whatever story Zach was telling everybody", Smith said in an interview with Stadium, a sports network, on Wednesday. The first impact that comes to mind is the non-conference game between Ohio State and the TCU Horned Frogs.

The coach, who has won three national titles, including one for the Buckeyes, has been suspended as Ohio State investigates whether he failed to report an assistant coach's domestic abuse.

Maurizio Sarri 'very confident' of Willian stay
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said on Friday: "At the moment Courtois is the goalkeeper of the club, of Chelsea ". And asked if he could see Courtois now leaving, he told talkSPORT: "I think definitely in Thibaut's case".

Whether OSU finds if Meyer did in fact violate provisions of his new contract extension will be up to the attorneys if OSU does ultimately decide to fire Meyer. Ohio State faces them the week before Texas takes on TCU in its Big 12 opener. The season starts September 1 with a game against Oregon State in Columbus, Ohio.

Gene and I agree that being on leave during this inquiry will facilitate its completion.

"I was never told anything", Meyer said.

In Meyer's absence, Ryan Day will assume head coaching duties for the Buckeyes. Meyer worked for Bruce and considers him a mentor.

Lastly, this Meyer issue could change the standard for college football coaches across the board.

Apple Becomes First Public Trillion Dollar Company; Beats Amazon, Microsoft, And Google
According to investors, Apple's shares needed to be at $203.45 to push the company into the Trillion Dollar valuation. That's a far cry from Apple becoming some kind of poky utility, however.

Meyer was out of coaching for a season, but was hired by Ohio State in November 2011. The Buckeyes season is set to start in just over four weeks against Oregon State.

Since returning to coaching, Meyer's program has been one of the most dominant in college football and his players and coaches have mostly stayed out of major trouble. The order, which was signed July 20, is effective until 2023 and prohibits Zach Smith from going within 500 feet of his ex-wife. Smith played for Meyer at Bowling Green and began his coaching career under Meyer in Florida. As a member of Meyer's staff at Florida in 2009, Smith was arrested for aggravated battery of his wife, who at the time was two months pregnant. If Meyer knew about the 2015 incident and allowed Smith to remain on his staff with no punishment, he valued football over Courtney's safety - and let that environment to continue for years.

The Smiths divorced in 2016. Zach Smith was sacked from Ohio State last month after he was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass during a dispute with Courtney Smith. A hearing to discuss the merits of her complaint was scheduled for Friday morning, but has been moved to September 14.

At Big Ten media days, Meyer said that he had been informed of that incident at the time and passed it along to his superiors, noting to the assembled media that "what was reported wasn't actually what happened" and that the Smiths were a "very young couple".

"In 2015 I came forward with it", Smith said. I was never told about anything and nothing ever came to light.
