President Donald Trump proved himself once again as a "man of action" in a "town of talk" by gaining major trade concessions on Wednesday with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, according to Kellyanne Conway. However, the deal was contingent "on the understanding that as long as we are negotiating. we will hold off further tariffs, and we will reassess existing tariffs on steel and aluminium".

"We agreed today, first of all, to work together toward zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods", Trump said.

Mnuchin said there were no new developments on the dispute with China, which has been the target of most of Trump's trade policies.

The firm was also speculated to attempt to catch the rocket's fairing with a giant net stretched across a boat called Mr. Iridium Communications, in partnership with SpaceX , is prepping to launch 10 Iridium NEXT satellites.

Trump later tweeted that work on documents was "moving along quickly", adding that the meeting with Juncker had "great warmth".

Schweitzer said European companies also faced other non-tariff barriers to doing business in the United States, for instance in winning government contracts, or due to the different regulations in various USA states. Imports come mostly from Brazil and the United States, but with Chinse competition for Brazilian soybeans and lower prices in the US, European soybean traders were already expected to buy more from the American market.

In order to reach an agreement, Juncker said the European Union was forced to abandon the prospect of European firms' access to a public offering in the U.S.as an main issue in the talks. And while the world can breathe a sigh of relief that he has taken a step back from the brink of a trade war, as one Washington economics analyst put it, "the avoidance of disaster is not a success".

Juncker responded by thanking the president and called it a "good, constructive meeting".

Trump also won a commitment to work together to reform the World Trade Organization to address some of his complaints about China on theft of USA technology, the behaviour of state-owned enterprises, and overcapacity in steel. "It will also make trade fairer and more reciprocal".

Earlier in an Oval Office photo op, Juncker said the USA and European Union were "allies, not enemies", a rebuff of Trump's recent comments, in which he labeled the European Union a "foe".

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the White House said it is preparing a $12 billion aid package for US farmers hit by trade tensions. "But one thing is sure: if the U.S. imposes tariffs on Chinese imports following an order of $60 billion, $200 billion, or even $500 billion, many Chinese companies will go bankrupt".
