Nets reportedly send Lin to Hawks, acquire two from Nuggets

The Brooklyn Nets traded Lin on Thursday night to the Atlanta Hawks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. According to the report, the Hawks will send the Nets a 2020 second-round pick originally from Portland and the rights to 2016 second-round pick Isaia Cordinier, who to date has remained in his native France.

Lin played just one game for the Nets in 2017-18 before rupturing the patella tendon in his right knee and missing the rest of the season.

For Brooklyn, the Denver trade was about using its cap space to acquire the protected first-round pick in 2019 to pair with its own and the unprotected 2020 second-round pick. At this point, Lin, Schroder and first-round pick Trae Young make up the Hawks' backcourt. The Nuggets will receive Isaiah Whitehead in the deal.

Jeremy Lin played a mere 37 games over two seasons with the Nets and while he was a fantastic teammate, he also helped Kenny Atkinson ease into his first head coaching role in the league.
