'Game of Thrones' leads Emmys field with 22 nominations

Netflix scored 112 Emmy Awards nominations on Thursday, more than any other television network and breaking a streak that HBO held onto for 17 years.

Since the first season of Game of Thrones, Dinklage has received a nomination for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series every year the show was eligible, and this year is no different.

The drama missed the awards in 2017 because of its production schedule but this year's nominations include nods for cast members Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage. And even some shows that did very well in overall nominations, like HBO's "Game of Thrones", saw some notable stars absent from the final tallies.

The top comedy nominee is Donald Glover's Atlanta, with 16.

Rhys and Brown will be up against Brown's castmate Milo Ventimiglia, along with Jason Bateman for "Ozark" and Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright for "Westworld".

John Legend scores a nomination of his own for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his role as Jesus in NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert". Brown won this category a year ago. If he wins, he will earn the coveted EGOT, having previously won a Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

The Emmys ceremony airs September 17 on NBC with Colin Jost and Michael Che of "Saturday Night Live" as hosts.
