LONDON FALLING: US Embassy Warns Americans of 'VIOLENT' PROTESTS During Trump Visit

A barrage of nationwide protests will greet US President Donald Trump's four-day trip to Britain from Thursday, with organisers hoping to stage one of the country's biggest demonstrations in decades following a series of diplomatic spats.

At a G7 summit in Canada last month British officials were delighted that attendees had "pulled it out of the bag" by convincing Trump to sign up to a joint communique at the end of the summit.

If the U.S president wants to visit a traditional London pub during his visit then he will be assured of a warm welcome in one hostelry.

Ms Elliott, who is originally from Virginia, said she is hopeful there could be a state visit by Mr Trump next year.

London mayor Sadiq Khan has given the okay for a giant orange blimp to fly over the streets of London.

The Book of Kells is one of Ireland's greatest cultural treasures, and is on display at Trinity College in the heart of Dublin . Meetings with The President of Ireland, Michael Higgins, and with The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, are both planned.

The US ambassador in London told reporters Friday that Trump was "aware" of the planned protests but "is not avoiding anything".

It pointed to polling a year ago showing up to two million people could take part in anti-Trump actions.

May has had to defend Trump's visit in the face of fiery criticism from opposition lawmakers.

"Prime ministers frequently make use of Chequers for meetings with foreign leaders", a spokesperson for May said. The issue is 'Do they have freedom to protest, freedom to assemble and should they be allowed to do so?'

This will exhibit the UK's military discipline and "integrated U.S. military training".

It would be a blow for Britain to lose that special status, said Shashank Joshi, a British security analyst.

Erika Miller, 36, who has dual British-US citizenship after marrying a Briton, said the protests would have no impact on relations between the two countries. "They trust us on issues to do with nuclear missiles in a way that they don't trust any other country". The future of its ties is uncertain, muddied by confusion over Brexit. "Britain is going to have to look right around the world for allies with which to do trade deals".

The U.S. president is also due to travel to Scotland where he owns two golf courses and Scotland's interim police chief has said more than 5,000 officers would be needed for to cover the trip, including specialist riot and armed officers.

Khan has criticized Trump repeatedly over the president's political views, saying earlier this year that Trump is "not welcome" in London.

Trump lands in London on Thursday, following his trip to Brussels for a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit, but will largely avoid the city.
