Walmart boycott: Calls mount over 'Impeach Trump' items

Walmart is catching fire on social media after shoppers caught sight of a T-shirt being sold through its third-party marketplace that says "Impeach 45", referring to President Donald Trump.

CBS News says Walmart has been selling "Impeach 45" baby onesies and men's T-shirts, both made by the apparel company, Old Glory, on its website. Third-party sellers on the website also offer a slew of other politicized products, including "IMPEACH OBAMA" and "IMPEACH NIXON" license plates.

Walmart's marketplace does still feature anti-Trump items from third-party sellers, but no products calling for the president's impeachment appear to be available.

Cleveland Plain Dealer Honors LeBron James With Epic Newspaper Cover
LaVar Ball has been saying LeBron James should join his son Lonzo Ball on the Lakers since nearly a year ago. Without a doubt, it'll be centered around James.

Fortune credits Ryan Fournier, chairman of Students for Trump, with the discovery of the t-shirts for sale and the call for a boycott that followed.

The shirt, from Old Glory, seems to endorse the idea of impeaching President Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States. We have reached out to Walmart for comment, and will update this story with any reply.

On June 27, Walmart announced that it was introducing a 3D virtual shopping tour on its website, as the retailer pours billions of dollars into beefing up its e-commerce business.

European Union warns Trump that auto tariffs could lead to $300B retaliation
The letter also said any auto tariffs would "damage further the reputation" of the U.S. , according to the FT. Mr Trump has threatened to impose a 20 per cent levy on cars from the EU.

Walmart, not long ago, was in trouble with liberals as well for a shirt it soldthat read "Rope".

Trump supporters are free to boycott, of course, but as Fox News noted, there are also plenty of items on Walmart's marketplace with Trump's slogan, "Make America great again".

It's unclear whether these are one-off incidents, or whether Walmart is systematically removing anti-Trump paraphernalia from the site. In the last few years, Walmart removed apparel that encouraged murdering journalists; removed Black Lives Matter apparel because conservatives complained the movement causes racial division; pulled a shirt that said "I'd Rather Be Snorting Cocaine Off a Hooker's A-;" and took a Halloween costume that depicted suicide off the shelves.
