Saudi Arabia: Deal can be done this week to boost oil supply

Any production increase would help offset a decline in output by Venezuela, an OPEC member consumed by economic and political crisis, and the prospect of reduced exports from Iran - OPEC's third-biggest producer - now that the U.S.is in the process of re-imposing sanctions over that country's nuclear program.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is meeting in Vienna in an effort to cool the market after oil prices rose to $80 a barrel.

"Our customers have spoken loudly and we must listen to them", Al-Falih said before the ministerial talks on Thursday. He echoed earlier comments from OPEC Secretary-General Mohammad Barkindo.

Saudi Arabia is ready to add back production it had agreed to curb in 2016, even though it is benefiting hugely from a almost 75% spike in oil prices.

"Saudi Arabia is unique".

Analysts expect the group will consider an increase of somewhere around 1 million barrels a day.

Trump's involvement in pressing for OPEC to act - which in addition to his tweets include a behind-the-scenes request for a 1 million-barrel-a-day supply hike - could make it hard for Tehran to accept a compromise.

If OPEC members and Russian Federation agree to pump more oil, that will reduce global capacity for spare production - reserves of crude that can be brought online quickly.

Reuters reported that the reinstitution of usa sanctions in November could cut Iran's oil output of almost 4 million barrels a day by a third.

"One million barrels a day is nominal".

OPEC needs the agreement of all members to clinch a deal and Iran's potential veto has support from Iraq and Venezuela.

There's a good reason for the two countries' opposition - neither have the ability to increase their own production.

TIME cover features Trump towering over sobbing girl whose mother is detained
Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order that halts the practice of separating families, but it doesn't end "zero tolerance". The girl's mother was being frisked and body-searched (after which she was reportedly detained) when Moore took this picture.

Iran, Opec's third-largest producer, has so far been the main barrier to a deal as it called on Opec to reject pressure from US President Donald Trump to pump more oil.

Ecuador said OPEC and its allies could agree to a compromise increase in output of around 0.5-0.6 million bpd. At that time, oil prices rose to nearly $150 a barrel. Trump has used Twitter to complain about high oil prices - and blame OPEC - twice since April.

The price of oil has jumped 55% since OPEC agreed to cut production by 1.8 million bpd.

Trump's involvement makes it hard for Tehran to accept a compromise. So, the markets have likely priced-in the output hike.

Zanganeh has said that if Opec returned to regular compliance, the group would raise output by around 460,000 bpd.

Also of concern was the U.S. immigration crisis after Trump backed off an unpopular hardline policy that had led to children being separated from their parents when they crossed illegally into the United States from Mexico.

'Wah wah': Ex-Trump adviser mocks girl with Down syndrome
Their father, a legal United States resident, is working with the U.S. consulate to get the girl released. Lewandowski appeared Tuesday on Fox News Channel to discuss Mr.

The only route to a production boost that Iran has publicly suggested - allowing the handful of countries that have voluntarily cut deeper than necessary to restore some output - would deliver far less extra oil to the market than the Saudi proposal.
