Trump aide apologises for saying there's 'special place in hell' for Trudeau

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Tuesday apologized after saying that there is a "special place in hell" for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In striking such a hostile tone against one of the oldest and closest USA allies, Navarro said Tuesday he was emboldened to send a "strong signal of strength" on the eve of the landmark summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Those remarks then sparked a Twitter outburst from Trump in which he called Trudeau "so indignant".

US President Donald Trump said the recent G7 spat-dominated meeting in Canada was "good", but in the same breath warned the host country would pay for the comments of its prime minister. "And that's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did at that stunt press conference".

Smith further said Trump's latest attitude towards Trudeau isn't a new thing and he has "been kicking allies in the teeth his whole presidency". "They don't take our farm products", Trump complained at the news conference Tuesday.

G7 photo of Trump becomes internet classic, going from baroque to ridiculous
Macron also tweeted Saturday a photo of the other leaders and aides surrounding Trump, who was one of just two people sitting. She also doubted if the USA leader still has what she called " the spirit of G7 ".

Instead of telling Trump directly, Trudeau waited until the President was departing the summit, then told reporters in a news conference that he meant to press ahead with retaliatory tariffs against USA products, declaring that Canada "will not be pushed around".

"When I got out to the plane, I think that Justin probably didn't know that Air Force One has about 20 televisions".

"Canada does have a very big advantage over us".

"We strive to reduce tariff barriers, non-tariff barriers and subsidies", the statement said, which came despite Washington appearing intent on taking more punitive steps on trade.

The backstabbing charge seems over the top, but the White House's contention is that Trudeau ought to have capped the G-7 summit by talking about Trump and the U.S.

Square Enix E3 2018: The Five Biggest Announcements
That suggests the transition we saw in the video is how the game works - blending TV show style cut scenes with gameplay. But the biggest disappointment for us is the lack of news of whatever Square Enix's Marvel project is going to be.

Trump added that Trudeau's statements would "cost a lot of money for the people of Canada". Canadians are "polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around", Trudeau said.

The attacks against Canada didn't end there, on Sunday, economic advisor Larry Kudlow accused Canada of stabbing the U.S.in the back.

Mr Trump revoked his administration's support for the G-7 communique after Mr Trudeau's news conference.

The United States has imposed 25 per cent tariffs on steel from Canada, Mexico and the European Union, and 10 per cent tariffs on aluminum.

However, the office of the US Trade Representative has said the United States ran a US$8.4 billion trade surplus with Canada in 2017.
