WatchOS 5 debuts with health and fitness tweaks

Confirm that and the Watch will continue tracking, adding in the data it started collecting when it first detected the workout. This watch-to-watch connection works over cellular and Wi-Fi, and enables you to send short voice messages to friends and family with an Apple Watch.

So far, Apple has limited the number of faces available to customers, a stark contrast to other smartwatches like the Fitbit Versa. Apple added automatic workout detection too so it will start tracking your data in case you forget to start or end logging a workout yourself. Then whoever wins at the end of the seven day period will get given a special medal within the Activity app. I know I've forgotten to stop the indoor cycling workout after a spin class and accidentally tracked two hours of.doing nothing. A few other run-tracking tools are included in watchOS 5, including cadence data and rolling mile pace, so you can easily view the pace of your last mile while you're running. Apple has also notably added Yoga and Hiking as the new workout types, making the total workout count of 14 types. Apple is also offering a new version of its Pride rainbow watch band, starting today. The new OS demands a dual-core processor, absent only from the first Watch, and is expected to end support for watchOS 1 apps as well. All you'll need to do is send an invitation to a friend, and once they accept it, you can talk whenever you want. When a user contacts a friend via watch-to-watch communications the recipient will feel a haptic vibration and hear a beep sound, instead of a phonecall.

The US President has threatened to respond to any new EU trade barriers with a tax on cars produced by European automakers. Trade war fears between the United States and its trading partners have been rife since March.

Watch notifications, which were once simple alerts relayed from your iPhone, will become significantly more useful in watchOS 5, especially in third-party apps. Additionally, Student ID cards can be synchronized to the Apple Watch, starting in the fall at a handful of universities. A simple wrist raise does the trick - just start talking. Also, third-party apps, like Nike+ Run Club and Citymapper, will be accessible directly through the Siri watch face for the first time.

The Siri watch face introduced a year ago is gaining live sports scores, commute time, and heart rate tracking. Webkit content can be displayed in notifications now, and just like on iOS 12, notifications are grouped by app.
