Kristen Stewart Goes Barefoot at Cannes Film Festival, Defies Heels-Only Rule

82 women including Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett, Salma Hayek walked the red carpet to protest the number of female directors selected by Cannes i.e. 82 as compared with more than 1600 male directors since 1946.

Although Stewart, who was a member of the film festival's jury this year, didn't confirm whether she removed her heels in protest of the French festival's rule forbidding women from wearing flats, it was assumed that she did it on objective as she has spoken in the past against the arcane dress code.

The acclaimed Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro joined Palestinians at the Cannes Film Festival Tuesday in a protest against the Israeli army's killing of Palestinians on the Gaza border.

She once again addressed the issue in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, "There's definitely, like, a distinct dress code, right?"

Back in 2015, a group of women were not allowed to walk in flats to attend the screening of "Carol".

Even though multiple Cannes officials have denied that the high heel policy exists, Kristen Stewart seemingly believes that it does.

Twins Fall In Walk Off In Anaheim
Maldonado had two hits and a walk for the Angels, scoring the game's first run on Justin Upton's groundout in the fifth inning. Middleton only returned from the disabled list last Thursday after sitting out with elbow inflammation.

The pictures of the actress taking her shoes off literally made headline news around the world, and we can't help but think how ridiculous that is. During a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair, she spoke about how she would react if she were told that she must wear high heels on the red carpet. It has become really obvious that if (a man and I) were walking the red carpet together and someone stopped me and said, 'Excuse me, young lady, you're not wearing heels. "It can work both ways".

She added, " I get the black-tie thing but you should be able to do either version - flats or heels".

Kristen Stewart proved she is all of us on the Cannes red carpet on Monday afternoon.
