Twitter reportedly sold data access to a researcher of Cambridge Analytica

This stands in contrast to the accusation that Facebook allowed the personally-identifiable information of at least 87 million users to end up in the hands of a third party without permission. The data covered a five-month period from December 2014 to April 2015, Twitter said in a statement to Bloomberg.

Twitter has confirmed this selling of public data to Bloomberg, stating that the firm has granted access to large-scale public data, covering months of posts, for one day in 2015.

Twitter Inc's spokesperson said in an e-mail that an internal review conducted by it showed GSR had not accessed any private data.

A White House spokesperson said Sunday it was "finalizing exact details" of Trump's address. But Trump later backpedaled from those sweeping statements, offering a more limited plan.

Twitter has stated that it will also be taking action against Cambridge Analytica for "using a business model that inherently conflicts with acceptable Twitter Ads business practices", removing any and all accounts operated under the company and hindering its advertising efforts.

Facebook has since made changes aimed at preventing Cambridge Analytica-style abuses in the future. Enterprise customers buy Twitter data to analyze customer service, events, and sentiments. This contrasts Facebook's locked down nature and the subsequent privacy concerns risen by Cambridge Analytica's forceful access in breach of the platform's policies. Of course, if we are having to tell you that, I have a bridge to sell you, along with your data.

As we await further details about how this data from Twitter was used, debate about the responsibilities of social media organisations continue. Even the Twitter Analytica does not place any advertising site in the site.

Deputy Kate O'Connell says survival rates dramatically decrease once the cancerous cells are untreated for more than three years. In addition, more than half of the 206 women affected have also seen their care impacted by the incorrect negative results.

Twitter also came under fire during the 2016 U.S. presidential election for failing to prevent the spread of misinformation and abuse on the platform. In the January-March quarter of this year, the company claims to have removed more than 142,000 apps connected to the Twitter API. The 335 people make up just 0.1% of the app's total worldwide installs.

Cambridge Analytica has never received Twitter data from GSR or Aleksandr Kogan, and has never done any work with GSR on Twitter data. Cambridge Analytica had allegedly used social media to influence the 2016 USA election.

Kogan said he sought out the Twitter data for the more mundane goal of helping big brands reach out to customers. After having failed to protect the privacy of users, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to testify in front of Congress.
