VERIFY: Here's why the Federal Bureau of Investigation had the right to raid Cohen's office

VERIFY: Here's why the Federal Bureau of Investigation had the right to raid Cohen's office

Federal agents seized records on a variety of subjects in raids Monday on Cohen's Manhattan office, apartment and hotel room, including payments that were made in 2016 to women who might have damaging information about Trump.

In addition to seeking documents connected to the tape, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents also searched for materials related to two payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and the Playboy model Karen McDougal, according to The Times. This news seems to support critics who believe that Special Counsel Robert Mueller - who reportedly referred the raid in part to the Southern District of NY - is really pushing his limits here, despite his claims to the contrary. At the time, Cohen was a top lawyer at the Trump Organization and not formally affiliated with the campaign.

The corridors of power in the White House and the United States are agog with rumors.

Public encouraged to call police on armed robbery case
Sioux Falls police have arrested a 19-year-old and are searching for two more people connected to a robbery over the weekend. The suspect, who was armed with a large knife, told a 7-Eleven clerk to "just give me the money", police said.

Trump has called the raids a "witch hunt", "an attack on our country", and a violation of rules that ordinarily make attorney client communications confidential.

The Cohen attorneys also want to see which, if any, of the documents might be excluded due to attorney-client privilege.

Prosecutors said they took the unusual step of raiding Cohen's residence and home rather than requesting records by subpoena because what they had learned led them to distrust that he would turn over what they had asked for. "The searches are the result of a months-long investigation into Cohen, and seek evidence of crimes, many of which have nothing to do with his work as an attorney, but rather relate to Cohen's own business dealings", said the filing, signed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas McKay.

Cardi B breaks Taylor Swift's Apple Music record
Without even being prompted, Denzel started rapping some of the most memorable lines from one of Cardi's biggest hits. Cardi B is a new artist, but she already beating out veterans like Taylor Swift for streaming records.

"When you're a star, they let you do it", Trump said in the video, speaking to Access Hollywood host Billy Bush.

Trump repeatedly denounced the raids as disgraceful. Cohen said he paid Daniels $130,000 in exchange for her silence about her claim to have had a one-night-stand with Trump.

Prosecutors are interested in whether Cohen, who had no official role in the 2016 campaign, co-ordinated with it to quash the release of anything detrimental to it and whether that violated campaign finance laws - a new front in the investigation into Cohen.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah reacts to Harry Kane winning goal appeal
Kane was so adamant that he got a touch on Christian Eriksen's free-kick he swore on his daughter's life that the final contact came off his shoulder.

A subpoena is more typical, to protect attorney-client privilege. Both women say they had affairs with Trump.
