Kitty Hawk unveils Cora aircraft for eVTOL air taxi market

We'd have thought New Zealand was selected for its large expanse of open space and rather small population that reduces the likelihood of human death and property damage if the Cora goes rogue and ploughs into one of those Middle-Earth style mountains the country has.

A secretive flying vehicle startup has been quietly testing self-flying airtaxis in New Zealand, with an eye to eventually launching a commercial flying taxi service.

Cora takes off from the help of propellers which are connected to the vehicle's wings with another in back of its body, letting it lift upward like a helicopter.

"I have had the privilege of seeing the self-piloted air taxi and I am very excited about what it offers for future generations - to live and move in a way that has never been possible before". However, the advent of air taxis-especially with autonomous capabilities-could fundamentally change the way the world sees commuting and business travel forever.

David Silva double takes Man City one step closer to title
Guardiola also hailed Silva, now in his eighth season City, for his ability to adapt to the Premier League's physicality. Guardiola rested a host of first-team regulars for the visit of Basel, including Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva .

Cora has a range of around 62 miles (100 km) and is created to accommodate two passengers.

Kitty Hawk's operations in New Zealand, however, are being led by Zephyr Networks, whose chief executive is Fred Reid, founding CEO of Virgin America.

The prototype Cora is all-electric, can carry two passengers, and flies between 500 and 3,000 feet above the ground.

Whilst other air-taxi projects are planning on flying in congested cities such as Dallas and Dubai, in the case of UberAir, Kitty Hawk will be flying first in the relatively New Zealand. You'd think such a flying vehicle would require a pilot's license to operate, but that's not the case.

Sushma Swaraj condemns Naresh Agrawal's comment on Jaya Bachchan
He expressed his affection for SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav, saying he could never leave them. In July a year ago , Mr Agrawal's comment in Rajya Sabha during a heated debate on cow protection gangs had to be expunged.

Kitty Hawk did its unveiling via a YouTube video and a statement that appeared to take a swipe at the U.S.'s aviation regulations. You'd hail or reserve one, as you would an Uber-although it's safe to expect that an air taxi ride would be more expensive than your average Lyft home. That's why Cora can take off and land like a helicopter, eliminating the need for runways.

Kitty Hawk's president is Sebastian Thrun, the head of Google's self-driving vehicle programme and the founder of its research division, Google X.

New Zealand was chosen as a potential testbed for the Cora due to the respect its aviation sector commands, along with the country's pursuit of a sustainable energy ecosystem.
