Katy Perry Nun Involved in Singer's Lawsuit Drops Dead in Court

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, one of two nuns fighting a court ruling involving the sale of a former Los Feliz convent to singer Katy Perry, collapsed and died Friday during a court hearing on the matter, according to multiple media reports.

The pop singer - who is the child of itinerant evangelical Christian preachers - offered in 2014 to purchase the eight-acre tract containing several lovingly-cared-for Roman villa-style buildings, but after the nuns raised an outcry the deal was put on hold, prompting a lawsuit by Perry. "She had nothing to do with forcing herself on us".

Hours before her death she spoke to United States news channel Fox 11 LA, decrying the ruling that cleared the way for the sale of the property to Perry.

Giants To Release Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
It wouldn't at all be shocking if Big Blue selected at least one more defensive back in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft. The recent cuts by the Giants could be due to the acquisition of linebacker Alec Ogletree this week.

The Sisters have created a website titled "Stand with the Sisters" to protest the sale to Katy Perry. In an interview hours before her death, the nun told Perry she is "hurting a lot of people".

Holzman then addressed Perry directly: "And to Katy Perry, please stop".

Perry and the Catholic Church were awarded nearly $10m in damages in 2017, when their lawyers successfully argued that the sisters had no right to sell the property.

The new name would need to be approved by party members in a mail vote and it is unclear whether it will be accepted. The National Front is seeking to rebound after a major electoral loss in France's national election previous year .

However, that sale was blocked by a judge in 2016, who claimed that the proposed deal was invalid, thereby leaving Perry with the opportunity to purchase the property.

At the centre of the legal dispute is the property Sr Holzman and other members of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary had once lived in.

While Archbishop Jose Gomez was negotiating a cash sale of the property to Katy Perry for $14.5 million, the Sisters sold the property Hollister for $20.3 million, in a note. Appearing alongside Sister Rita Callanan, the nuns said they were appealing to the Vatican to step in on their behalf. In the documentary the nuns said they wanted to sell the property to local businesswoman Dana Hollister who had plans to turn it into a boutique hotel.
