Joe Tessitore to replace Sean McDonough on 'Monday Night Football'

Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch revealed Friday night that Sean McDonough took on a new role with ESPN, which does not include play-by-play for "Monday Night Football" broadcasts. ESPN officially announced a change is coming to Monday night, as Sean McDonough signed a new multi-year deal with the Worldwide Leader. He has also called National Football League games for ESPN Radio since 2013.

McDonough has been with ESPN since 2000, following an earlier stint from 1989-1995. "I look forward to reuniting with ESPN's college football team where I have so many close friends in front of and behind the camera". ESPN will have an entirely new crew working the booth this season, with Gruden having returned to coaching with the Oakland Raiders. Manning could call the network's "Thursday Night Football" games and still have his weekends free.

The new name would need to be approved by party members in a mail vote and it is unclear whether it will be accepted. The National Front is seeking to rebound after a major electoral loss in France's national election previous year .

The New York Post reported that ESPN's Joe Tessitore will replace McDonough.

"Over the past two years, as I watched college football on television, I realized how much I missed it", McDonough said in a statement. He has called multiple sports in his career, including marquee events such as the World Series, NCAA Final Four, and the Olympics.
