US special counsel probes Seychelles meeting with Russian

Nader began cooperating with Mueller after he arrived at Dulles Airport in mid-January and was stopped, served with a subpoena and questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Post reported.

Last year, Prince told lawmakers and the media that the meeting was an unplanned, unimportant encounter that came about by chance because he happened to be at a luxury hotel in the Seychelles for meetings with officials from the United Arab Emirates. Blackwater founder Erik Prince-whose sister, Betsy DeVos, is Trump's education secretary-attended the meeting with businessman George Nader, an adviser to the UAE who the New York Times reports is cooperating with Mueller.

Nader has long served as an adviser to the UAE leadership, and in that role he met a few times with Trump officials, including Stephen K. Bannon and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to people familiar with the matter.

Nader - and the Seychelles meeting - are of interest to Mueller's team as it examines whether any foreign money or assistance fueled the Trump campaign, and how Trump officials during the transition and early days of the administration communicated with foreign officials.

Lego struggles to boost sales after 13 years of growth
All in all, The LEGO Group reported a decline in revenue and operating profit for 2017, but ended the year in a better position. Lego said that it saw "strong potential" in its business in China, where sales enjoyed double digit-growth previous year .

Nader couldn't be reached for comment and his lawyer declined to comment.

Special counsel Robert Mueller - according to the Washington Post - has evidence of a back channel, or the beginnings of one, between the Trump administration and the Kremlin in the form of a meeting in Seychelles, a group of islands off the coast of Africa.

Rice sought the names of senior Trump officials in order to find out why Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the crown prince of the UAE, made a decision to visit NY late 2017, she told the committee in a closed-door interview, according to a CNN report at the time. The committee has been struggling with the administration over certain Trump affiliates refusing to answer questions about the transition period and the administration that are not preapproved by the White House.

The Washington Post, citing USA officials, said such a concession by Moscow would have been required to justify any easing of US sanctions on Russian Federation by the Trump administration.

China sets growth target, set to end president term limit
President Xi Jinping's top economic aide, Liu He, met with USA officials at the White House this week to discuss the fraught economic relationship.

Prince has sharply disputed that account, saying he did not present himself as a representative of the incoming administration.

Investigators now believe that the meeting was meant to establish a line of communication between the countries that was outside normal diplomatic channels. The crown prince is widely known as MBZ. He's met numerous times with investigators, the Post reported.

Prince said he never told Bannon about meeting Dmitriev.

H.R. McMaster, Trump's national security adviser, learned that Kushner had contacts with foreign officials, including from the UAE, that he did not coordinate through the National Security Council or officially report.
