Ruth Graham gave a moving testimony about her failed marriage and about how her father had welcomed her home. Instead, she said, her father greeted her in the driveway with a big hug.

"My father's greatest longing has been granted", the younger Graham said.

"I know Billy would be questioning why we grieve because he is now in paradise", said Smith".

The globe-trotting evangelist drew Pope-sized crowds - more than three million people over five days - including one service with an audience of more than one million people.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, along with Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence were among the 2,000 people in attendance.

Trump, Pence and their wives met privately with the Graham family before the service.

The service included songs from gospel musicians who performed at Graham's speaking events around the country.

Beyoncé also seems to allude to her meeting with Tiffany Haddish , which the comedian promptly told virtually everyone about. In a February interview, Haddish had recounted her brush with Beyonce , and how the star keeps ladies away from her husband.

The service, during which 2,000 people will reportedly gather under a large tent outside the entrance of the Billy Graham Library, will be streamed live from noon. It also reflected his family's desire to capture the feeling of the crusades that made him the world's best-known Protestant preacher of his era.

The address was given by Graham's son Rev Franklin Graham, founder of Samaritan's Purse and chief executive of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

"It doesn't matter", because the election is over, Franklin Graham said in an interview earlier this week. 'He was dependent completely on God, ' he said.

Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon, according to the Billy Graham Library, even offered Graham positions in government, "which he quickly and politely refused".

Ford said that Trump had told her, "Your family has good genes".

He also said his father believed in Heaven and has now gone on the journey that he'd been "looking forward to all of his life". "But I think when he died, that was something very strategic from Heaven's point of view", said his daughter Anne Graham Lotz. What was I going to say to Daddy? He will be remembered at a funeral Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

More than 100 global dignitaries paid tribute to Graham in Charlotte, including Billy Kim, a Korean pastor and friend who served as Graham's translator in South Korea.

Graham brought a private message from President George H.W. Bush in 1992 and explained in detail to Kim Il Sung and other high-ranking officials the United States position on North Korea's nuclear program. On Wednesday, Graham became the first private citizen since civil rights icon Rosa Parks in 2005 to lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol.

A Graham family spokesman said family members consider the service to be Graham's last crusade. 'All of us children came to see the world and our father in heaven through my father's eyes'. "We're also spreading the word of the gospel of Christ", said Darlene White, of Minneapolis. Her parents were Christian missionaries in Pyongyang, a city once called the "Jerusalem of the East".

"Billy's message, and everyone of us as Christians, our message to everybody should be just come to the foot of the cross and meet Jesus".

"The message continues. He's one of many, many servants that God has called to preach the gospel - the simple gospel message - and so that's what should continue to happen", said Rev. Michael Randall, of Kansas City, Mo.

Thousands of people who visited the U.S. Capitol to honor Billy Graham were given the opportunity to write out their thoughts and prayers in memorial notebooks and cards for the Graham family.

"Dear God, I prayed, all unafraid (as we're inclined to do), I do not need a handsome man but let him be like You; I do not need one big and strong nor yet so very tall, nor need he be some genius, or wealthy, Lord, at all; but let his head be high, dear God, and let his eye be clear, his shoulders straight, whate'er his state, whate'er his earthly sphere; and oh God let his face have character, a ruggedness if soul, and let his whole life show, dear God, a singleness of goal; then when he comes (as he will come) with quiet eyes aglow, I'll understand that he's the man I prayed for long ago".

The stories and messages of Graham's children touched Joe and Judy Cook, of Nashville, Tenn. "We are now grateful that God has now brought them back together again for eternity".
