Fear of protests forces Trump to cancel London's visit

Downing Street has accused Jeremy Corbyn and Sadiq Khan of jeopardising relations with America for telling Donald Trump he is not welcome in Britain, after the U.S. president called off a planned visit to London in the face of likely mass protests.

"The US is the biggest single investor in Britain - yet Khan & Corbyn seem determined to put this crucial relationship at risk", he tweeted.

Trump had claimed he had scrapped the visit because he did not want to open the new USA embassy in the British capital, but Khan on Friday suggested the real reason was because he would not be welcome, CNN reported.

The latter controversy sparked a diplomatic spat between Theresa May and Mr Trump, after the Prime Minister condemned the US President's actions. "We will not allow US-UK relations to be endangered by some puffed up pompous popinjay in City Hall".

However, the Kardashian family are concerned the young father-to-be won't step up. On Instagram, Jenner's photos are carefully cropped as to not show any belly.

"We are strongly committed in the special relationship between our two countries and we are confident the new embassy will provide the necessary platform to continue our cooperation".

But soon afterwards, Johnson's comments were endorsed.

Many British politicians have voiced their opposition to Trump being granted a state visit, and say the invite should be recalled. "Many Londoners have made it clear that Donald Trump is not welcome here while he is pursuing such a divisive agenda", Khan said on Friday.

"His visit next month would, without doubt, have been met by mass peaceful protests", he added.

Still, British officials said their government had been working on the basis that Trump would arrive in late February, though no firm date had been set.

Some British lawmakers questioned whether Trump would be welcome in London because of previous tweets and criticism of Muslims and his sniping at London Mayor Sadiq Khan in the aftermath of a terror attack in that city a year ago. "We've seen the impact of this in the USA and we can not allow this narrative to take hold in Britain".

There has been speculation that his visit would result in mass protests, so people have been responding online with their own very serious reasons for not visiting London. He said it was due to concerns about the embassy's move from the elite Mayfair district to a less fashionable area of London.

"The US chancery in Grosvenor Square had aged beyond its ability to be improved to current security and life safety standards without extensive investment in infrastructure that would require appropriated dollars", he said.

One of Barclays' analysts, Mark Moskowitz , reckons as many as 77% of iPhone owners are eligible for a cheap battery upgrade. Apple says it does this not to encourage customers to upgrade, but rather to preserve battery power.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told parliament on Tuesday that he expected Queen Elizabeth II to meet Trump during his visit, saying she was "well capable of taking this or any American president in her stride".
