Here's How YouTube Is Punishing Logan Paul

For Logan Paul, social media is about to taketh away.

Following his controversial video, the video network have put all its original projects with the vlogger on hold according to a statement, via THR.

Logan Paul will not appear in Season Four of "Foursome" on YouTube Red. Without Google Preferred, however, which gives companies the ability to sell ads on videos produced by the top five percent of YouTube creators, Logan faces a loss of revenue.

"In light of recent events, we have chose to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", a YouTube spokeswoman said in a statement.

Mazda selects Alabama for $1.6 billion auto plant with 4000 jobs
Many automakers have announced expansions of facilities or new jobs but no other new USA auto plants have been announced. A Toyota automaker employee moves an engine at the Toyota engine assembly line in Huntsville, Alabama November 13, 2009.

On Dec. 31, Paul posted the video of his visit to Japan's Aokigahara forest, a well-known destination for people looking to end their own lives, before taking it down amid claims he was using the sad scene to increase his viewership.

The following day, the vlogger announced in a tweet that he was "taking time to reflect" and has not released a vlog or tweeted since.

YouTube, in November, stepped up enforcement of its guidelines for videos aimed at children, after the video streaming service was criticised that it has failed to protect children from adult content. YouTube vice president Johanna Wright wrote in a blog post that over 50 user channels were removed and the company stopped running ads on more than 3.5 million videos. While none of these steps will stop Paul from vlogging or even advertising on his channel, it will certainly affect the amount of money and exposure his brand makes going forward.

YouTube finally responded to both the criticism it faced in the wake of the controversy and the 22-year-old's actions in an open letter posted on Twitter yesterday. Paul was just the latest web personality perceived to go too far with videos.

YouTube promised in a statement that it was listening to feedback and expected more from creators who build their community on the platform.

YouTube says he eventually took it down himself, but not before it was viewed more than six million times.

Fellow YouTuber Anna Akana, who has openly discussed her younger sister's suicide on her channel, expressed her disdain for the video, saying: "That body was a person someone loved".
