President Winfrey? No way, says Trump: 'I'll beat Oprah'

"I absolutely don't think that her position has changed, I don't", she said, after clarifying Winfrey's long-time beau, Stedman Graham answered a question of if she would make a good president, not if she would run. "You know, I did one of her last shows. I like Oprah", he added.

But King did acknowledge a glimmer of hope for those dreaming of an Oprah bid: "I do think she's intrigued by the idea".

"Look, it's ridiculous - and I get that", said Brad Anderson, Barack Obama's 2012 Iowa campaign director, who supports the idea of Winfrey running.

Winfrey made sure to enlarge the issue of sexual harassment from just Hollywood, saying that it affects women whose names we'll never know.

King said: "She loves this country and would like to be of service in some way".

"I've interviewed and portrayed people who've withstood some of the ugliest things life can throw at you, but the one quality all of them seem to share is an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights".

Asked about all the presidential speculation suddenly swirling around Winfrey, the typically pugilistic Trump steered clear of nasty nicknames and colorful insults while sizing up such a potential celebrity showdown.

"Yeah I'll beat Oprah", he said in response to a White House pool reporter asking if he thought he would win a race against her.

And Oprah also won praise from tablemates Eva Longoria and Keith Urban.

"By the way, where is @Oprah?" he tweeted. In fact, she was brought into the mix nearly 20 years ago by current President Donald Trump. "Anyway, who cares, I adore Oprah".

"I probably wouldn't, but I do get exhausted with seeing what's happening with this country and if it got so bad I'd never want to rule it out totally", he said. "I'd love to have Oprah". Oprah would always be my first choice.
