LG to unveil its rollabale 65-inch 4K OLED TV

LG has just unveiled a 65in 4K television set that rolls up like a poster when it's not in use.

"LG Display is all about innovative products that provide new value to customers", says Dr Sang-Beom Han, the CEO of LG's display division. It rolled up to a radius of 3cm without affecting the function of the display. So far, LG hasn't released more details about the display, but we expect them to be out as soon as CES 2018 begins later this week. No this is a 65 inch beast of a display with these characteristics and full 4K ultra HD resolution, just like one of LG's excellent normal OLED televisions, except for the whole paper-like design part.

Last year, the firm successfully developed a 77-inch transparent OLED display.

It seems unlikely that LG will be selling this sort of display to the general public any time soon, and it would nearly certainly cost a hefty sum. For those who don't want their TVs dominating the living room, LG touted this set as one you can roll up and hide when you want it out of sight, "allowing for better space utilization, something existing displays can't deliver".

LG hopes that this sort of display will allow customers to enjoy bright, hi-res content "anytime, anywhere".

In small-sized displays, Samsung and LG's position is reversed as the former controls over 90 percent of the market in OLED display for smartphones.

Pinnacle Ridge Processors Not Coming Next Month After All
KitGuru Says: We are just at the start of the year, so it's possible more information will come down as the months go on. So it's not really a surprise that, in announcing its next wave of processors, this is where AMD is starting.

LG seems to be taking the center stage at this year's CES.

LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology.

Like the 88-inch 8K OLED that LG is showing off, this 65-inch rollaway model is merely a prototype, and LG has not announced any plans to sell a commercial variant.
