No criminal charges against Venus Williams in fatal auto crash case

Tennis star Venus Williams will not be charged in a crash that killed a passenger in another vehicle - and neither will the other driver, according to a police investigation that concluded neither was at fault.

Barson's husband, Jerome, died after he suffered spleen lacerations, pelvic fractures and spinal fractures in the accident. Williams, 38, was not injured.

The police said an unidentified third vehicle cut Williams off as she tried to cross a six-lane highway.

Investigators say video shows Williams had a green light when she entered a busy intersection but a auto turned left in front of her, forcing her to stop.

North Korea denies claim it is developing biological weapons
He noted that the regime had used VX to kill Kim's estranged half-brother, Kim Jong-nam, in Malaysia in February. North Korea claimed it had completed its nuclear force after it fired a new Hwasong-15 ICBM in late November.

Body camera footage released weeks later offered a closer look at the accident's aftermath, during which the officer on the scene told Williams he'd say she was at fault - but added, "I don't feel comfortable writing a citation when I'm not a hundred percent sure, and I'm not a hundred percent sure in this case".

A new report has revealed that the Palm Beach Police Department has concluded their investigation and found that 37-year-old Williams was not at fault in the accident. As she started to cross, a dark sedan cut her off, forcing her to stop. When Williams resumed driving, she was directly in the path of Barson, who also had right of way.

"I was caught in the middle".

An attorney for the Barson family, Michael Steinger, said in a statement Wednesday that they disagree with the police department's findings and will pursue the civil case against Williams.

On the basis of the video, police said in a statement shortly after the crash that, "the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal, and attempted to travel north through the intersection".

Williams broke down when quizzed about the crash during a Wimbledon press conference last summer.
