A day after the license of Max Hospital Shalimar Bagh was cancelled over a case of medical negligence, the OPD of the health centre has been shut down. The report, prepared after scrutinising hospital records and meeting relevant staff, found the hospital, located in Shalimar Bagh, guilty of not having followed prescribed medical norms in dealing with newborn babies. "The government has taken a wrong decision. For a mistake that occurred at the level of a doctor, the license of the hospital can not be cancelled". "What happened in this case is unacceptable", health minister Satyendar Jain said at a press conference. The infants were handed over to them in a polythene bag, they said.

Also, the hospital had continued to use extra beds allotted to them for a particular time even after the expiry of deadline, the minister said.
