Driverless Shuttle Debuts In Vegas

The vehicle was using self-driving technology developed by French company Navya, and typically travels at about 15 miles per hour as it carries people along the Las Vegas strip.

"The shuttle just stayed still", passenger Jenny Wong told local news station KSNV.

Did 76ers drop the ball by not trading for Eric Bledsoe?
The Phoenix Suns have reportedly agreed to trade Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks . Phoenix, rebuilding with an extremely young roster featuring Booker and T.J.

Over the next year, AAA aims to give some 250,000 people free rides on the self-driving shuttle, which will run a 0.6-mile loop with three stops (and a safety driver onboard just in case). The shuttle did what it was supposed to do, in that it's sensors registered the truck and the shuttle stopped to avoid the accident.

"A little bit of that looking around and you know wondering if it was going to stop, and 'Oh my gosh, there's a auto behind us, kind of little hesitation, '" she said.

As the Las Vegas shuttle accident illustrates, however, one of the biggest challenges may be getting human drivers used to autonomous vehicles.

The minor crash caused a delay but the bus returned shortly after to pick up more passengers waiting in line.

According to city officials, it was the driver of the lorry that the bus crashed into that was at fault and not the technology itself.

The self-driving bus, developed by Navya, does not have brake pedals or a steering wheel. It has a top speed of just under 30 miles per hour.

Farrow's new report on Weinstein's suppression techniques might help explain why, but even Waxman can't say for certain. One of these firms was Black Cube , which is an agency run by former Israeli intelligence agencies.

Maurice Bell, vice president of Mobility Solutions for Keolis Transit America, said the shuttle would continue to operate after undergoing a complete diagnostics assessment. The shuttle is operated and maintained by Keolis, which also led the efforts to integrate its vehicle into the smart-city infrastructure, in partnership with the city of Las Vegas and NAVYA. The bus traveled only a short distance and was only available for a few days but it was open to anyone who wanted to get a preview of the future.
