According to AAA's daily fuel tracker, the average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded in the two-county region on Monday was $2.41, an 8-cent drop from a week earlier.

Nationally, the average price dropped 16.2 cents per gallon last month and stood 22.3 cents per gallon higher than past year.

That represents a 7-cent decline in the past week. The national average price for a gallon of gas was also $2.47.
