Aston Martin DB11 Volante goes on sale | New Release

One of the sexiest convertibles we've seen in a long time.

Aston Martin has unveiled the first of its next-generation convertible models, the V8-powered DB11 Volante.

Aston Martin is now taking orders for the DB11 Volante, which starts just north of $216,000. Color choices for the hood include Bordeaux Red, Black Silver, or Grey Silver. It takes just 14 seconds to lower and 16 to close, and can be operated remotely from the key or at speeds up to 31 miles per hour.

Freeport-McMoran, Inc. (FCX) Shares Bought by BW Gestao de Investimentos Ltda
Indexiq Advisors Llc increased Hormel Foods Corp (NYSE:HRL) stake by 72,888 shares to 397,602 valued at $13.56M in 2017Q2. Tracking most recent quarter period, Price to book (P/B) ration is at 3.13 and Price to cash per share ration is at 4.47.

The convertible top is an eight-layer fabric deal that drops in 14 and raises in 16 at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour. Prototypes of the DB11 Volante were also tested in Death Valley, California, and the Arctic Circle for extreme temperatures. During the Life Cycle Durability (LCD) test, the roof was put through 100,000 cycles in special weather chambers. The convertible receives a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 as the only engine option, leaving out the 5.2-liter V-12 that's offered on the coupe version. The new hood design also results in a 20% larger boot capacity than the outgoing DB9 Volante. It produces 503 hp and 513 lb-ft. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes 4.1 seconds from a standstill, Aston Martin says. That makes the Volante only a tenth slower to 60 than the coupe, and their top speeds are identical.

"The challenge of creating a convertible auto is retaining structural and dynamic integrity", said Max Szwaj, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer. "To protect the former you need strength and rigidity, but to preserve the latter you need to keep weight to a minimum".

But the maker would have us believe it's a whole lot more: It's 26kg lighter and five percent stiffer than the convertible DB9 it replaces, thanks to the all-new bonded aluminium structure it shares with the coupé.

GRFD teaches fire safety at public open houses
The Little Rock Fire Department offers smoke alarms to Little Rock residents who need one. Close doors behind you as you exit - this may slow the spread of smoke, heat and fire.

Aston Martin has lifted the lid off its lovely DB11 (last year's 'Design of the Year' victor at the T3 Awards) and, as a result, created the most attractive vehicle we've ever seen. "One that combines greater performance and agility with increased comfort, refinement and interior space for occupants and their luggage".

We could go on describing the DB11 Volante at length, but we'll leave the description to Andy Palmer, Aston Martin President and Chief Executive Officer, and invite you to discover the new model in full glorious action in a video from the luxury automaker.
