World Cup bribery case opened against PSG president, Valcke

Al-Khelaifi, according to the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, is accused of handing Valcke "undue advantages" for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.

Swiss federal prosecutors announced on Thursday they are investigating suspected bribes offered to former Federation Internationale de Football Association secretary general Jerome Valcke to award the broadcast rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cup to Qatari-owned BeIN Media Group, where Nasser Al-Khelaifi (pictured, left) is the chief executive. Valcke denied any wrongdoing in this case.

The new proceedings have arisen from an ongoing investigation into Valcke for alleged acts of "criminal mismanagement" concerning the awarding of World Cup media rights to certain countries.

"beIN Media Group refutes all accusations made by OAG".

The cricket board said the rock was "believed to be roughly the size of a cricket ball" and had ended up inside the bus. While the stand-in skipper David Warner retweeted the post, middle-order batsman Glenn Maxwell liked it.

The criminal proceeding was opened on March 20, but announced only on Thursday, the Swiss federal office said.

"The company will fully co-operated with the authorities and is confident as to the future development of this investigation".

Valcke was interviewed by the attorney general's representatives in Geneva on Thursday "as a suspect", the statement said.

Also charged is a former Secretary General of football Governing body FIFA, Jerome Valcke.

Al-Khelaifi's profile has risen in recent weeks as PSG pursued and sealed a world record transfer of Brazil star Neymar from Barcelona for 222 million euros ($260 million).

The new probe is the latest in a complex web of scandals that have rocked world football over the last two and a half years.

NBC , which shares a parent company with CNBC, stands by its reporting. "He made a joke, nothing more than that", Sanders said. While Mr Trump is quite comfortable with insult-trading, there's one topic that's clearly off-limits.

Valcke, who worked for FIFA between 2007 and 2015, is now serving a 10-year ban from football - issued by the FIFA Appeal Committee in June 2016 - after being embroiled in the corruption scandal that hit football's governing body in 2015.
