Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan is a proclaimed offender in a case of terrorism, but is not being arrested.

The election commission's directive came over a contempt of court case filed against Khan for "repeatedly failing to appear for the hearing and for failing to send a written apology for absence in court".

After using it during his famous 49-day-stint, Kejriwal gave it to Naveen Jaihind, the party's Haryana incharge. Vandana Singh, member of AAP's media cell, reported the matter at IP estate police station.

While speaking to media on Thursday, the Pakistan Peoples Party leader remarked that Imran should avoid the embarrassment of being taken to the court by police officials.

Earlier on September 14, the bench had issued bailable arrest warrants for Khan after his repeated failure to appear in contempt of court proceedings at the commission but the Islamabad High Court later suspended the warrants after PTI's petition. According to PTI spokesperson Naeemul Haq, the party is also set to challenge the warrants in the IHC.

The ECP further accused him of underestimating the authority of the commission and "bringing it into disrepute and disrespect and to interfere with, obstruct, interrupt and prejudice the process of law and the due course of proceedings, and scandalising the commission".
