'Lukaku is fit' - Belgium to risk Man Utd wrath following Fellaini blow

Marouane Fellaini has reported back to Manchester United's Carrington training complex to receive treatment on the knee injury suffered on global duty with Belgium.

Manchester United manager José Mourinho is believed to be deeply concerned over suggestions that Belgium will field their star striker Romelu Lukaku in this evening's World Cup 2018 qualification match against Cyprus.

Romelu Lukaku arrived at Manchester United this summer with a weight of expectation on his shoulders.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez confirmed on Monday that the 24-year-old has recovered from the injury that saw him miss Saturday's 4-3 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"It was a very unfortunate injury for Marouane Fellaini". 'And, no, I have not received a call from Mourinho.

Belgium announced shortly after seeing Fellaini laid low that he was facing "a couple of weeks" out, with his setback coming at a bad time for United.

"He is still a very young player but he has coped easily with the expectations and whatever Man United put on him".

However, United's selection problems in midfield could worsen still, with Paul Pogba reportedly set to be sidelined for even longer than first thought.
