Rohingya crisis: Bangladesh home minister may go to Myanmar in October

More than 500 000 Rohingya people have crossed Myanmar's border into Bangladesh, making this the world's fastest-developing refugee emergency.

The exodus began after Myanmar security forces responded to Rohingya militants' attacks on August 25 by launching a brutal crackdown that the United Nations has denounced as ethnic cleansing.

According to the IOM, the proposed camp will be the world's largest, dwarfing Bidi Bidi in Uganda and Dadaab in Kenya, which both house around 300,000 refugees.

Iran Warns of Response to New US Sanctions
The head of the elite military unit also made a veiled threat to attack U.S. military bases in the region. The warning comes as US President Trump is expected to announce his new Iran policy in the coming days.

In the refugee camps of Bangladesh, the next end of the cease-fire was received with a certain caution. Many under 18 living in makeshift camp at Cox's Bazar highly traumatized after seeing family members killed and home set on fire.

We need to deal with this issue more realistically. Jewel's father, Babul Hossain, told the French news agency, AFP. The minister said two of the existing settlements have already been shut down.

Many in Buddhist-majority Myanmar consider the Rohingyas, who are mostly Muslims, as illegal migrants from Bangladesh. The United Nations has praised Bangladesh's "extraordinary spirit of generosity" in opening up its borders.

The Iran accord, which Trump has repeatedly called "the worst deal ever negotiated", is seen as under particular threat this week. ICAN founder Tilman Ruff AM said everyone should be concerned about the United States and North Korea's access to nuclear power.

Coordinated attacks of several tens of border crossings to burma on the 25th of August by rebels rohingyas had triggered a crackdown of the burmese army, which has prompted the flight of more than half a million refugees rohingyas from northern Rakhine State to neighbouring Bangladesh.

Bangladesh initially kept its border closed after violence broke out in Myanmar's western Rakhine, but later chose to open it up to Rohingyas on humanitarian grounds. Rohingya who have made it to Bangladesh allege the spurt in arrivals follows a new campaign of intimidation by Myanmar's army in parts of Rakhine which were still home to Muslim communities.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) did not say what action it would take after the ceasefire ends at midnight on Monday, but it was "determined to stop the tyranny and oppression" waged against the Rohingya people. Rights groups say the real death toll is likely to be much higher, especially among the Rohingya, while the United Nations has labelled army operations as "ethnic cleansing" against the Muslim group. Bangladesh has made the journey even more hard with a clampdown on boats running refugees across the Naf river that separates the two countries.

He believes that despite the fine form of the three times African champions, Zambia can pull the plug off the feet of the home side.

But this is disputed by Rohingya refugees, who say the military and Rakhine Buddhists are setting their villages alight to drive them out after attacks by Rohingya Muslim militants on police posts.
