Tesla deliveries rise in third quarter, but Model 3 faces 'bottlenecks'

Tesla deliveries rise in third quarter, but Model 3 faces 'bottlenecks'

Tesla, which warned when it launched the sedan in July that it was entering "manufacturing hell", is aiming to produce 5,000 a week by the end of the year.

Tesla blames bottlenecks on a mere "handful" of subsystems at its manufacturing plants for the weak figures.

"This should come as no surprise", said Michelle Krebs, an analyst with Autotrader. Tesla stock dropped 1.7 percent in after-hours trading. The vehicle, which is half the price of Tesla's previous models, is critical for the company's goal of moving from a niche manufacturer of luxury cars to a mainstream automaker.

The company reports there were 4,820 Model S and Model X vehicles in transit at the end of the quarter (and 40 Model 3 newbies, apparently).

Hizballah Leader Says Kurdish Independence Vote Could Lead To 'Internal Wars'
Baghdad ordered the halt to all foreign flights to and from the Kurdish region from 6:00 pm (1500 GMT) Friday. From September 29, worldwide air service with airports in Iraqi Kurdistan has been stopped.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in July that the first 30 customers would receive their Model 3 cars later that month.

Tesla said the problems were not even close to permanent.

But that's not necessarily a bad approach.

Initially, the electric auto maker said it would be capable of building 1,500 units in the said quarter, but considering the resulting numbers, it wasn't able to meet even 20 percent of its goal for the sedan aimed at the mass market. Previous cars in its lineup like the Model S and Model X are luxury items, priced well above what most consumers are willing to pay for a auto.

Sony announces redesigned PlayStation VR headset
Sony notes that consumers will be able to distinguish between the older and new PSVRs though their slightly different packaging. There are majorly 3 VR headsets in the market, one from Facebook ( Oculus Rift), HTC Vive and lastly the Sony PlayStation VR .

Several holders of Tesla shares shrugged off the miss, with Ross Gerber, chief executive officer of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management, noting that "Elon's never made a number, ever".

"We don't see upside", Thomas Sørensen, who manages the fund, told Bloomberg in a September 28 interview. The Model 3 manufacturing ramp up will be incredibly hard even if Tesla hits all of its production goals.

Production on the highly touted vehicle was expected to expand from 100 cars in August to 1,500 in September, and plateau to 20,000 per month in December. It did not reaffirm or change that guidance Monday. The eight-year securities were quoted at 97.25 cents at 1:23 p.m.in NY.

Tesla has long ridden a rollercoaster when it comes to the stock market.

Bills vs Falcons Live NFL at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday
That formula nearly helped the Falcons win the game Sunday as the backs combined for 222 yards rushing and receiving. Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for 79 yards and caught 4-of-6 targets for 65 yards in Week 4 against Buffalo.

"Eight weeks ago, Tesla said they would make 1,500 cars in the quarter. Making cars is not an easy business, and they're finding that out".
