Both the primary checkout system of Whole Foods Market stores, as well as the systems of parent company Amazon, were said to have been unaffected. There are more than 40 Whole Foods stores across the United States that sell beer on tap. IBTimes UK has reached out to Whole Foods for comment.

However, Whole Foods was only alerted to the breach following a report by an outsider - indicating that its own internal IT and security teams hadn't detected any anomalous activity.
