Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino 'in love' with model professional Harry Kane

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino 'in love' with model professional Harry Kane

Right wing-back Aurier, making his full Premier League debut, was sent off 20 minutes from time after being shown a second yellow card for a tackle from behind on Andy Carroll, and he is the first Spurs player to be shown a red card in a league game since Vlad Chiriches against Stoke in May 2015, 868 days ago.

Speaking ahead of Spurs' London derby clash with West Ham United on Saturday, Pochettino made it clear that whilst he remains a keen admirer of the Belgian's talent, his injury troubles mean that it is hard for the midfielder to play week in, week out.

"This type of player will never knock on your door and say, "I want to play more".

But Pochettino added: "I think the first yellow wasn't yellow".

"There's so much more to happen, so who knows what the ending will be?"

"They have a great young team but it's a case of rewarding him". He's settled really well.

And Kane said: "When teams come to our place, whether it's White Hart Lane or Wembley, they're going to drop off [defend deep], and we've got to find a way to get around that and win". But the Hammers chief was honest in his assessment of the contest: "Of course we are disappointed that we lost the game, the Croat said". The communication is important and we have very good communication. "That game means more than three points". "We feel the passion and try to improve the team in different aspects", he said. This was good example of when the team should play, when they should defend and when they should compete.

A pretty odd reaction actually from a group that had displayed such passion for their team prior to kick off, and even during the early exchange of a match that seemed delicately balanced until Harry Kane struck twice. Pochettino was asked in his post-match press conference whether Kane was the best striker in the country and replied that he could be judged as even better than that.

It was a dominant match for Tottenham's talismanic striker, and afterwards his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, heaped praises on his performance, calling him one of the world's best strikers and saying he is "in love" with him. I am in love, like the fans are in love, his team-mates are in love, not only because he scores goals but because how he is, a professional, humble.

"I think the cat is out of the bag now".

"I see stuff go round on social media [about my goalscoring] but I don't think it. To get nine points from three away games is really good".
