Multiple people injured in shooting at Tennessee church

One person was killed and eight others were wounded during a shooting at a church in Antioch, Tenn.

Metro fire officials confirmed to the TV station that there are at least six people injured on the scene.

At this point, the gunman has been identified and is being treated at hospital. An eighth victim was "pistol whipped", police said.

The church is located at 3890 Pin Hook Road in Antioch.

At around 11:15 a.m., police started getting calls about gunshots being fired, according to a dispatcher, The Tennessean reported.

There is no word on a motive and authorities have not released any additional information.
