The FBI Reportedly Wiretapped Trump's Campaign Chair, And It's A Big Deal

That court order expired some time in 2016, sources told CNN, but the FISA court reportedly issued another one as part of the FBI's investigation into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russian officials.

As with the Mueller raid, the FISA warrant would have required sign-off from top Justice Department and F.B.I. officials and investigators-in this case to present a solid argument that the individual could be acting as an agent of a foreign government. It may have picked up information relevant to the ongoing probe into Russia's election interference, but CNN's sources caution nothing conclusive was acquired.

After the 2014 warrant ended, it was renewed again until earlier this year, in order to allow the FBI to investigate ties between Trump campaign associates and suspected Russian operatives.

Manafort came under fire over his work in the Ukraine with the party of former President Viktor Yanukovych, and as a result, surveillance of Manafort reportedly commenced through the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

After spike, gas prices are slowly dropping in Mass.
During the same time in 2014, oil was (and usually is) the main driver of pump prices, as crude traded between $65-$75 per barrel. The most expensive gas reported Sunday in the city was $3.31 at a North Patterson Street retailer, according to gasbuddy.

According to CNN, the initial investigation of Manafort fizzled and surveillance was discontinued in 2016. But again, that is very far removed from the president's claim-yet his allies have already begun spinning it. The claim was later denied by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department.

Roger Stone, a former business partner of Manafort's and informal adviser of Trump's, said that the new report overwhelmingly supports Trump's controversial claim. Or Trump Tower digital chatter might have shown up while authorities dug through the vast quantities of data hoovered up via more sweeping foreign surveillance programs.

It's unclear when exactly surveillance of Manafort restarted, but in August, CNN reported that US intelligence intercepted suspected Russian intelligence officers discussing Manafort in the summer of 2016, months before the election.

The pre-dawn raid on July 26 focused on documents and other materials at Manafort's home in Virginia.

White House special counsel caught blabbing about Russian Federation probe in public
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly erupted at Cobb after he learned about the lunchtime conversation. Cobb also expressed concern with a White House lawyer he didn't name in the conversation.

A spokesperson for Mueller did not immediately respond to a BuzzFeed News request for comment.

Manafort has denied that he ever "knowingly" communicated with Russian intelligence operatives during the election and has also denied participating in any Russian efforts to "undermine the interests of the United States".

Sen. Liz Warren was right there to shout down the president, saying, "I just think it's becoming clearer every day that President Trump is failing and he knows it, and that's what these wild allegations are about". While the authorities are yet to confirm whether Manafort let the Russians affect the elections or not, media reports have suggested that he may actually have taken some help from Russians to make Trump's campaign stronger, and that of his rivals' weaker.

While his Virginia home was searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in July, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was reportedly told to expect an indictment for his troubles.

Earlier the BA flight from Paris was evacuated after passengers were told a " direct threat " had been made towards the aircraft. Anderson told CNN they had not received any further updates from officials but that passengers were re-boarding the aircraft.
