British Airways flight held at Paris airport over security concern

Passengers were set to fly on #British Airways flight BA303 from #Paris Charles de Gaulle airport to London Heathrow airport on Sunday morning.

Flight BA0303 was due to leave Charles de Gaulle airport at 7.25 but was evacuated on the tarmac.

James Anderson, a 20-year-old entrepreneur, after being deboarded wrote on Twitter, "Everyone onboard had been individually searched by armed officers, while police and fire vehicles surrounded the plane".

Earlier the BA flight from Paris was evacuated after passengers were told a "direct threat" had been made towards the aircraft.

He posted: "On British Airways flight BA0303, now being held on tarmac at Paris due to security threat, surrounded by police and fire vehicles".

The suspect remained at the scene in Square Narvik and she allegedly exhibited pictures of herself with burns after the attack. The spokeswoman spoke on condition of anonymity, per the French judicial system, in a phone call to The Associated Press .

"Apparently an individual has made a direct threat to this aircraft".

One passenger on the plane said it was surrounded by dozens of armed officers and firefighters. We were waiting on the plane for around an hour.

As reported by the Independent, a spokesperson for British Airways said in a statement that their top priority is always the safety and security of both their customers and the airline crew.

Anderson told CNN they had not received any further updates from officials but that passengers were re-boarding the aircraft.

A spokesman for France's national gendarme service said police and firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a "security alert".

Airport operator Aeroports de Paris said: "There was an incident that led authorities to decide to keep the plane on the ground and to disembark the passengers a few minutes before take-off, to carry out additional checks".

'We would never operate a flight unless it is safe to do so'.

The UK terror threat level was raised from
severe to critical on Friday following the terror attack at Parsons Green Tube station.
