Jury finds teen in 'Slender Man' stabbing mentally ill

A shared delusion played a major role in leading two girls to stab another 12-year-old girl 19 times in a Wisconsin park as a tribute to the horror character Slender Man, a psychologist testified Wednesday.

After a sleepover with their classmate and friend, Weier and Geyser lured her into the woods and stabbed her 19 times with a kitchen knife, according to a criminal complaint.

McMahon said Weier will spend at least three years at a mental hospital before petition for her release.

Westendorf said she believes Weier suffered from a shared delusional disorder that left her unable to conform her conduct to the law when she and Morgan Geyser tried to kill their friend. 10 of the 12 members voted that Weier could not be held responsible for her crime. Jurors will determine whether she was mentally ill at the time of the stabbing. "At 12 years old, she had no way to protect herself from this except to follow Morgan's advice, and they swirled down into madness together".

This came after a Waukesha County jury reached a verdict in the first Slender Man trial.

He is described as a shy boy by his mother who is not yet ready to change the world but wants to help people in any way he can. The Tamil version has received 2.5 lakh views on YouTube where the Telugu version has already received close to 6.5 lakh hits.

Weier told authorities that she and Geyser believed they had to kill Leutner or else Slender Man would kill them and their families. She'll either be sentenced to a mental health facility or prison. McMahon also said that a judge can order up to a 25-year commitment for Weier. The girls were allegedly trying to please the fictional internet bogeyman Slenderman.

Melissa Westendorf was appointed by a judge to evaluate one of the girls, Anissa Weier, now 15, after her insanity plea.

"I was scared because A: I would never see my family again, and B: I had to prove I wasn't insane, that I wasn't seeing things, because even I saw Slender a few times", said Weier.

"At the moment of this awful tragic event, that she was confused and convinced that something real was going on with this very unusual character called Slender Man", he said.

Geyser, who did the stabbing, will go on trial next month.

Spectacular finale for legendary Cassini space-probe
Even if NASA funds a new Saturn mission in 2019, that spacecraft would launch in 2024 - then it'd take years to make the trip. Every week, Cassini has been diving through the approximately 2,000-kilometre-wide gap between Saturn and its rings.

For the first time, a detective Wednesday shared the victim's account of what happened the day two Waukesha girls stabbed their friend almost to death.

Waukesha County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Osborne told jurors that Weier went along with the attack to preserve her one and only friendship with Geyser. Her legal team successfully argued that she truly thought she was serving as a proxy for a supernatural creature called the "Slender Man".

Both Weier and Geyser were originally charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

But she also pleaded not guilty due to mental illness of defect, setting up the trial on her mental status.
