Sanchez joined the record 33-time Dutch champions from boyhood club Atletico Nacional - where he lifted South America's premier club competition the Copa Libertadores - last summer and presently has four years left on his Ajax contract.

But Sanchez was the Ajax Player of the Year last season and shone in the Europa League Final, despite his side losing to Manchester United.

No change to Alexis Sanchez situation says Arsene Wenger
As you might have heard, maybe once or twice, Alexis Sanchez has less than a year left on his current contract, so of course the topic came up once again.

The switch to Ajax has seen Sanchez develop his game further. In fact, the youngster also scored with six goals and provided two assists.

Elsewhere, across last season, he completed 12 of his 17 take-ons (71% success rate) whilst averaging 2 interceptions per game and winning 59% of his headed duels. He played an instrumental role and established himself as rock at the back line.

French leader urges calm in North Korea crisis
Earlier this week, Trump said if North Korea made any more threats to the USA , it will be met with "fire and fury". Asked Friday if the USA was going to war, he said cryptically, "I think you know the answer to that".

The Spurs manager has been criticized for a good chunk of this summer due to his inability in making quality additions to the first team.

As Sport Witness explained at the time, Ajax's "not for sale" didn't really seem like the final answer, and it nearly felt the Dutch club were fishing for better offers, whether they be from Tottenham or elsewhere. The fact that he is only 21, can mean that he will be a long-term member of the Spurs.

North Korea tensions continue to weigh on global stocks
Shanghai's main index also tumbled 1.6 percent to 3,208.54 while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 1.2 percent to 5,693.10. Benchmark U.S. crude rose 23 cents to settle at $48.82 a barrel on the on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan have all been linked with a move for Sanchez, who is valued at upwards of £35m by Ajax, but Spurs could be in the driving seat given Mauricio Pochettino's reputation for helping youth to flourish.
