Scaramucci: Trump 'Needed to Have Been Much Harsher' in Initial Charlottesville Statements

Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House communications director, said the President need to be "much harsher" on white supremacists and the violent nature of the demonstration in Charlottesville, USA.

"I think that there are elements inside of Washington, also inclusive in the White House, that are not necessarily abetting the president's interests or his agenda", the Manhasset financier told ABC News' "This Week".

In his first interview since being fired from the Trump administration after less than two weeks on the job, Scaramucci looked on, sometimes ruefully nodding and smiling, as host George Stephanopoulos played some of the more colorful parts of the vulgar interview that led to his dismissal.

We were quite good a year ago on corners and overall I believe that with a bit of work we can get that out of the system". I got back late, I should have handled this better . "We encourage our midfield players to play balls in behind.

"He has to move away from that sort of "Bannon-bart" nonsense", Scaramucci said, apparently combining Bannon's name with Breitbart, the website that Bannon ran before joining Trump's campaign previous year. Scaramucci on Sunday said that "for the record, I thought that was off the record". Before his ouster, Scaramucci had lambasted Bannon - a senior White House adviser on leave from his position as an executive of the alt-right Breitbart News Network - in a profanity-laden interview with a New Yorker reporter.

The White House did not immediately respond to CNNMoney's request for comment about Scaramucci's remarks.

In Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday, white nationalists and counter-protesters clashed in riots that turned deadly, resulting in three deaths and several injuries. One person died when a vehicle plowed into a crowd.

Last month, William joked she would have been a "nightmare grandmother", adding he keeps her memory alive with his children.

Trump had come under intense criticism after he assessed the violence in Charlottesville as a "display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides", but refrained from blaming any specific group for the outbreak of violence.

DONALD Trump has been slammed by his former press chief for not condemning white supremacists at a far-right rally that left one woman dead.
