CNMI governor backs Trump's stance on North Korea

Clarissa Baumgartner, a 25-year old Guam resident, said Pyongyang's second threat in as many days to train its ballistic missiles on Guam wasn't something she was taking too seriously.

The small US territory of Guam has become a focal point after North Korea's army threatened to use ballistic missiles to create an "enveloping fire" around the island.

Governor Torres said he had faith in President Trump to make appropriate decisions for the security and protection of the CNMI and neighbour Guam. Seoul is 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometers) to the northwest, Tokyo is 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) north and Taipei is 1,700 miles (2,700 kilometers) west. "Some people [say], 'We just want our peace, our island groove that we've always have.' There are other people who are just sick and exhausted of the threats from North Korea because there sure have been many over the years".

Dillard's slumped 15.5 percent after the chain booked a loss for the second quarter as increased inventory led to big discounts. Among the more popular stocks lifting indexes were Microsoft (+1.54%), Cisco (+1.42%), Apple (+1.39%) and Netflix (+1.36%).

The officials told NBC that the attack would originate from the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.

"Definitely, I know Guam is a pretty good target because it's important to the US because of the military", she said. It noted which weapons it would use (intermediate range ballistic missiles), how many of them (four) - and the timing: sometime before the end of this month. For years, North Korea has claimed Guam is within its missiles' striking distance, making furious statements each time when the USA flew powerful bombers from the island's air base to the Korean Peninsula. Altogether, 7,000 US military personnel are stationed on Guam.

The U.S. took control of Guam in 1898, when Spanish authorities surrendered to the U.S. Navy.

He wasn't erratic, he didn't throw an interception and on most plays, he made smart checkdowns rather than forcing a pass. Alex Tanney replaced Mariota and was sacked by linebacker Julian Stanford on his first play and briefly left the game.

Guamanians have served in all major USA wars since World War II and see military service as a source of pride. Residents do not pay USA income taxes or vote in the general election for US president.

Here's a closer look at Guam and its role in the US and North Korea's ongoing war of words. Guam was also a refueling and transfer spot for military personnel heading to Southeast Asia. North Korea said a day earlier that it would create an "enveloping fire" around Guam.

"Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely", the president said on Twitter, adding "hopefully Kim Jong-un will find another path!" In 2013, the Army sent a missile defence system to Guam called Terminal High Altitude Area Defence or THAAD.

Many teams have nearly filled in their holes to chase the title and to face the #Uefa Champions League tough teams. The Red Devils have a clean bill of health barring long-term injuries to Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo.

"North Korea's most recent threat to target Guam is risky and it further heightens tensions in our region", Bordallo said.
