Inquest opened on victim Peter Wrighton — EAST HARLING MURDER

Peter Wrighton, 83, who was stabbed to death while walking his two dogs near East Harling in Norfolk.

Peter Wrighton, 83, who had been stabbed repeatedly in the neck and head, was "immensely kind and never had a bad word to say about anyone", his family said. He wore a grey or blue t-shirt, grey floppy gym-style shorts above the knee and heavy duty flip-flops.

Detectives want to trace two more potential witnesses, who are both men.

Detective Superintendent Andy Smith said: "This is a complex investigation and we are pursuing many leads". We have received more than 100 calls in the last three days and we would continue to urge people with information, particularly those who were in the area between 9am and 11m, to make contact. "We know there will be other key witnesses, for instance the man who was changing his top in previous appeals has been identified and will be spoken to in due course".
